My Writing on the First Three Units of Grade 8
Unit 1: Personal Information
Being able to introduce oneself in English is an essential skill, and this was the focus of our first unit. We learned how to talk about personal information such as our name, age, and hobbies. One of the most exciting parts of this unit was the “About Me” presentation that we had to do in front of the class. I remember being nervous at first, but the feedback I received helped me improve and gain confidence in my English speaking skills.
Unit 2: Shopping
The second unit was all about shopping, and we learned vocabulary related to stores, items, and prices. Our teacher also taught us how to ask for help and how to bargain in English. I found this unit very useful because I love going shopping, and it was great to be able to communicate more effectively with store assistants when I needed assistance.
Unit 3: My Day
The third unit focused on daily routines and activities. We learned how to talk about our typical day from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed. One of the most exciting parts of this unit was creating a daily routine poster where we had to write and draw pictures of our daily activities. This assignment allowed us to showcase our creativity while also practicing our English writing and speaking skills.
In conclusion, the first three units of grade eight English class were both informative and engaging for me. I am looking forward to continuing to improve my language skills throughout the rest of the academic year.
