My Experience of Learning English in Grade 7, Unit 6
Improving My Vocabulary
During grade 7, unit 6 of English class, I have learned a lot of new words. My English teacher introduced us to many new words that are commonly used in daily conversations and media. I also made it a habit to write down new words I encountered when reading and look them up in the dictionary. This helped me to improve my vocabulary and feel more confident when expressing myself in English.
Practicing My Listening and Speaking Skills
Besides expanding my vocabulary, I also worked on my listening and speaking skills. In class, we often had conversations in pairs or small groups, which gave us the opportunity to practice our English and improve our speaking skills. I also watched English TV shows and movies with subtitles, which helped me to enhance my listening comprehension.
Overcoming My Fear of Making Mistakes
One challenge I faced during this unit was my fear of making mistakes. I was hesitant to speak up in class or in front of my teacher because I was afraid of saying something wrong. However, my English teacher emphasized that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process and encouraged us to take risks and try our best. With her support and guidance, I became more confident in my English abilities and was able to overcome my fear of making mistakes.
By the end of grade 7, unit 6, I felt that I had made significant progress in my English learning journey. I am excited to continue developing my language skills and become more fluent in English.
