My Favorite Chinese Festival

The Significance of Mid-Autumn Festival

My favorite Chinese festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It is a time for family reunions and to appreciate the full moon. As a Chinese person, I value the tradition and cultural significance behind this festival.

The festival has various legends and traditions associated with it. One of the most popular stories is that of Chang’e, a goddess who drank the elixir of immortality and flew up to the moon, where she has lived ever since. Another tradition is the making and eating of mooncakes, which symbolize family reunions and represent the moon’s roundness.

My Personal Experience during Mid-Autumn Festival

Personally, I love celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with my family and friends. We gather together, eat traditional foods such as mooncakes and pomelos, and share stories and laughter under the bright moonlight.

One of my fondest memories is when my whole family went to a park to enjoy the full moon together. We brought lanterns, played games, and ate delicious food while admiring the moon. It was a magical and unforgettable experience.

In conclusion, the Mid-Autumn Festival holds a special place in my heart as my favorite Chinese festival. It brings me closer to my family and allows me to appreciate the beauty and significance of Chinese culture.
