My Experience of Learning English in Sophomore Year
Passion ignited by literature
During my English classes in sophomore year, I discovered my love for literature. The stories and poems we read ignited a passion in me to learn more about the language that brought them to life. I found myself eagerly participating in class discussions and spending countless hours reading books on my own.
Dedication to improving pronunciation
I also became more dedicated to improving my pronunciation. I realized that speaking fluently was just as important as writing coherently. I practiced speaking with native speakers and started watching English movies and TV shows without subtitles to immerse myself in the language. It was challenging, but the improvement in my pronunciation was worth the effort.
Challenges in grammar and writing
Despite my passion for the language, I faced challenges in grammar and writing. English has many complex grammar rules that were difficult for me to master. Additionally, writing in a different language was a daunting task. But with the help of my teachers and peers, I pushed through these challenges and improved my skills.
Overall growth and confidence
Looking back, I am proud of the progress I made in learning English in sophomore year. Not only did I improve my language skills, but I also gained confidence in myself. I learned that it’s okay to make mistakes and to ask for help when needed. I am excited to continue my language learning journey and see where it takes me.
